|      For as long as I remember, I have grown up within a small community near the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Nothing drastic has ever occured during my lifetime other than moving multiple times through the duration of my childhood.
Although, initially my parents were concerned of my learning capabilities based on how I preformed early on.
The years passed seamlessly and in the process I was able to overcome and accomplish tasks I could not beforehand.
All that I have accomplished was made possible because of the continuous support I recieved from family and friends.
I was rather shy when it came to meeting new people whether it be in school or even in every day life. My worst fear and till this day is embarassment and letting someone or others down in whatever it may be. I recently realized that I have to push myself out of my boundaries to achieve what I expect from myself in the long run. Years upon years I have been scared of letting down teamates on team sports, my teachers and family, and most importantly myself. Although, I have felt better about myself overall by going out of my comfort zone and try new things to open opportunities. One example would be quitting Walmart to persue other jobs that will actually help me transition into adulthood besides pushing carts. Once I was able to let go and move on I quickly adapted to a new work environment that has actually changed my life positively. I believe it was the best decision I have made for myself thus far.
"I was raised in a very humble environment, and I was always taught to be humble to the things that are happening in my life because they're blessings. They're blessings in every way. Whether you're able to help someone get through a tough time in their life through your music or through comedy, or whatever it is, you're just a channel."
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
|      Although team sports are not my favorite, soccer has always been a sport that I have been passionate about.
I have found that any sport involving my feet are ones that I excel at.
I tried out for the middle school track team and I eventually was able to break three school records.
I do not regret being involved in track because running is a gifted talent that I have been given.
Although, I did participate in football as well, but I did not find a love for it.
Since I was held back by my parents for schooling only because I had a summer birthday, I have had the ability to grow stronger and learn at a faster pace than my classmates. I am especially thankful for that since I do an exceptional job in my academics and have received awards for my work. Part of this junior seminar is to push students to look for post-secondary schooling to better themselves in the world. I have been planning on which college to attend and the University of Wisconsin River Falls seems like a good fit for me. The link to their official website is here.
