It was June 6, 2002 and I had just made my entrance into the world. In fact, my parents were still at the hospital.
But the excitement wasnít over just yet. Soon after my birth, my dad brought some legal documents to the
hospital for my mom to sign. It turns out, I was born 10 days early, the same day that our new house on Carolina
Court was finished being built!
Fast forward 16 years; we have since moved from that house and now live at our home on Deer Lake. My family consists of me, my parents, and my sister Alaina. Alaina is 18 years old and is currently attending college at North Dakota State University, where she is a cheerleader. Alaina and I grew up with a love for gymnastics. Creating crazy stunts was one of our favorite hobbies, so it was no surprise to me when she tried out for the NDSU Cheer Team and made it. After I finish high school, I plan to go to college at NDSU too (however, my mind changes all the time as to if I actually want to go there). If I do, I hope to follow in my big sisterís footsteps and be part of their Cheer Team. However, I am still undecided on a major and future career.
I have always been an active girl and I love to stay busy. Growing up, I participated in pretty much every activity this town offered. I was in dance classes, gymnastics, basketball, soccer, softball, and made sure to try out for every Festival Theatre production I could.
Festival Theatre has played a huge role in my life. When I was younger I was very shy, and being in plays helped me step outside my comfort zone. Since the time I was six I have acted in numerous productions there. My favorites being Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas, in which I played Carrie, and Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman. Click here to visit Festival Theatreís website and see their current performance schedule. In fourth grade, I was cast in the role of Peter Rabbit in Beatrix Potter Tales at Festival Theatre. Being in that play changed my life because that is where I met one of my closest and best friends, Addie Koenig. Addie is two years younger than me, but she knows me even better than my own sister. We have so much in common and I have so many unbelievable memories with her. Including the experience of auditioning for Americaís Got Talent.
In 2017, I tried out for AGT with Addie and another friend, Ella. My biggest passion in life is dance and
gymnastics, and I share this passion with them. So we decided to create an epic routine infusing dance,
gymnastics, and hoverboards. Our audition definitely could have gone better, considering that during the routine
Ella landed hard on her feet after doing a back tuck and legitimately broke her heels! Even so, it was still
one of the proudest performances and days of my life. The experience taught me the value of persistence, endurance
Addie is not the only friend with whom I share a close bond. Ever since fifth grade, Maddy Stensven and I have been inseparable. Everybody needs that one person they don't care about getting in trouble with and would do anything for. Well, that's Maddy for me. In fact, I have had some extraordinary adventures with her, including getting escorted by mall cops, getting pulled over by boat police, and having some fun driving extravaganzas. Throughout all these times we managed to avoid major trouble, even though there were some close calls. These escapades also taught me some important life lessons and that it is okay to get into a little trouble every now and then.
Currently I stay active in the community and participate in student council, National Honor Society, clowns, kinship, forensics, dance, track, weight lifting, and gymnastics. My life goals are to attend college, work hard, get a job I love to do, and have a family of my own. It won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is. Most importantly, I plan to share my life with new friends along the way, but always maintain by childhood friendships.
