Welcome to my Webpage!

On this webpage, you will find a brief personal biography that I have written. I will showcase my life and also provide links to the units of my two semesters of Junior Seminar. Click the links above if you wish to visit those pages or contact me personally.

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."
- Henry David Thoreau

I am Joe Gorres, and I am currently a junior in high school. My birthplace was Stillwater, Minnesota, and I lived in Bayport for about two years. We moved to Saint Croix Falls in 2002, and have lived here ever since. My family consists of myself, my sister, my brother, and my parents. I have a very deep passion in music, and I participate in band and choir. I took drum lessons for a couple years, starting in 5th grade; those lessons were the roots of my lifelong interest in music. Playing the drums has given me many opportunities to perform in front of others. What started out with performing "We Will Rock You" in the middle school talent show eventually led to being a part of Milwaukee's Summerfest. This passion in music is shared with my brother, Evan. We have similar tastes in music, and it is usually easy to find some time to bond with each other and make our own. Another huge hobby of mine is sports. I've taken part in a wide range of sports in my past. Basketball, baseball, soccer, and football were all a large part of my life at one point, but the two that remain as a junior are basketball and baseball. I've always been a fan of working together and bonding with a team to give our best effort possible. When it comes to future occupation, I have considered many options and have not decided yet. I hope to love what I do and do my best to make a difference in the world. While there is much more to me, this is me in a nutshell.

"Be the change that you wish to see in the world."
